Aussie start up proptech Canibuild appoints DoorDash’s Chase Gardener as CRO
Chase Gardner moved to Australia from the United States of America to launch one of the world’s best known takeaway food delivery platforms – DoorDash. Two years later, he’s joined canibuild – a fast-growing Aussie start-up – to help them scale to new heights.
Originally from Texas, the 32-year-old studied Political Science and Rhetoric at the University of Texas. Chase once dreamt of working in politics as a lawyer, but he soon realised that his professional passions were geared towards technology start-ups after getting a taste for it working as a PGA Golf Professional. He started his technology career at a Dallas-based Ecommerce company called Shoebacca before joining DoorDash in 2016.
He moved from Texas to San Francisco in 2017 to work at DoorDash, helping to found their Enterprise Partnerships Team – a role that would present him with the opportunity to drive the company’s expansion in a new market across the Pacific Ocean three years later. Under Chase’s leadership, DoorDash achieved enormous growth in revenue by expanding to over 85% coverage of the population and more than 30,000 merchant partners within 24 months of operating in Australia.
Realising a passion for scaling businesses, he was excited by the opportunity to support canibuild in a similar way. As the company’s Chief Revenue Officer, Chase is responsible for building on commercial structures, leading sales, marketing and strategic partnerships to support canibuild’s unforeseen, exponential growth in the short period of time since their official launch.
Beyond the success of any company that he works with, Chase is enthusiastic about giving his time to helping those around him achieve their personal and professional aspirations. He is an Angel Investor for two start-up tech companies – Gridwise and AngelList.
